Reply with quote | #1 | Well that was a first! Great, BUT no where to store the bike!! As I live close to my serviced offices... - we nipped around the corner to put the bike in my garage.
Great that a potential client came on a bike, but not so good that there was no "infrastructure".
Can low carbon ever be easy? |

Reply with quote | #2 | Can low carbon ever be easy you ask Paul?
I think so. Although I don't think its easy...
Remember young days before we had to worry about all the things that cars make us worry about, bills, parking, speeding fines, accidents...
A walk or ride to the local store, no parking worries...
A huge bike store taking up 1/5th the space of a car park...
The system has worked in the direction of making us feel we need to burn carbon to be normal... businesslike... efficient... successful... and yet we often still feel empty even when we consume 10 tonnes of fossil (anb generate 20+ tonnes of CO2 pollution)...
The social norms they are a changing
It took a while with smoking
It was de rigeur once Then optional Then unusual Now banned
Will we quit the bigger 'smoking' habit in time and cut the carbon?

Reply with quote | #3 | Remember the "go to work on an egg"? Well why not go to work on your bike - if you can. I have seen these amazing bikes that you can fold up and take with you to London. - greener and fitter! Way to go!
I am now thinking about going to my next client appointment on a bike! |

Reply with quote | #4 | Loads of people are going to Marlow Rugby club mini-rugby on Sunday mornings on their bikes these days... its contagious...
Is it just me or are more people down-sizing their cars a little, and walking and biking more.
How funny that the world leaders could make:
poverty obesity & war
history by adopting a policy of radical decarbonisation of the economy
its time to quit carbon abuse and stop smokin fossil
happy after carbon - successful post oil
