The core founding idea for Mar-Low Carbon Community was to pool enthusiasm:-

To bring individual members of Marlow's community together in active conversation / discussion with one another - about what they are doing - and celebrating what they have already done - to shrink their own carbon footprint for real - however small a start it may seem.

To support each other in all our efforts to make a small difference - and to be contagious in the community - by showing just how fulfilling a 'low carb'
life can be - and how good it tastes!!

To generate real local demand, discounts, consortia, bulk buying, carbon cool fashion...

a whole new Marlow brand of eco chic!

The dream?

... the co-creation (that means all of us) of a new Marlow brand of eco-chic!  It's already started happening!

Is it me... or are more people walking, cycling, taking EE action at home, talking about taking more UK holidays, thinking twice about frequent long haul flights, and even trading 'up' from the V8 Range Rover into some smarter low carb wheels...

Dear Marlow Low Carbon Community

This is a general interest recap email about the Marlow Low Carbon Community.

It has come to my notice, when visiting the MarLowCarbon.com    (for-the-whole-community-use) website,    (but visiting it from another computer to my usual one)    that you won't get to see ANY of the important and interesting 'Messages' about events etc that have been posted up by people (ok, largely by one person so far!)....  if you are not 'logged in'...

If you're not 'logged in' - it will look as if nothing much is happening!

The log-in process takes a minute, and once done, you will be automatically 'signed in' next time you visit the site...

If you don't register, you won't see anything much atall, even on the homepage... maybe this helps explain the fairly light traffic to date?

Could I also remind people of the PURPOSE AND INTENTION of the site:

The site was made possible by the contributions of FOUR local Marlow and Bucks individuals, and their businesses:-

Paul Imre, whose innovative web consultancy http://www.imre.co.uk "makes the web work for small and medium-sized businesses."

Andrew Leech, whose internet news and information channel http://www.4ecotips.com is  "Bringing your planet back down to earth."
(See 4ecotips mission at http://www.4ecotips.com/eco/mission.php)

Dermot Fitzpatrick, who runs Time OUT Retreats http://www.timeoutretreats.co.uk  ...offering us "space to be ourselves"

Dave Hampton, (me) campaigner consultant 'the cabon coach' http://www.carboncoach.com/ .. helping you live a more carbon conscious life for less

Despite the 'dot com' web domain... (the com in Mar-low carbon dot COM was intended to resonanate with COMMUNITY) ...
http://www.marlowcarbon.com  is a non-commercial venture, the purpose of which is to help all the people of Marlow to prosper by innovating together and co-creating a better safer more resilient world, starting here at home, and in Marlow.

Blazing a bright and breezy trail of chic, local, carbon-free possibility together as it says on the tin..

Look forward to seeing you post something up on the site - tips, events, sales, wants, inspirations, news, offers, requests... over to YOU

Dave
